WRFDA 4dvar segmentation fault in tutorial

Hello, I have been working through the WRFDA tutorial (https://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/users/wrfda/Tutorials/2019_July/class/4dvar.html). All the examples I tried went fine until trying to run the 4dvar case, at which point I just get a mysterious segmentation fault: "Program received signal SIGSEGV: ...

Stand-alone adjoint run

Hello, I am trying to figure out how one would run just the WRF adjoint to calculate adjoint sensitivites. There seem to be examples of this functionality in the literature (i.e. https://doi.org/10.1175/2008MWR2235.1), but I can't find information on how to use wrfplus outside of doing 4dvar. Thank ...

4dvar compilation error

Hello, I am trying to compile for 4dvar (V 4.1.5), following the instructions in the user guide (https://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/users/docs/user_guide_v4/v4.1/users_guide_chap6.html#_Installing_WRFPLUS_and_2). Wrfplus compiles but when I try to compile the rest of the executables, only some of them co...

Re: Issue with ungrib

When I try that I get this error:

% setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /home/jose/WRF/Build_WRF/LIBRARIES/grib2/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
LD_LIBRARY_PATH: Undefined variable.

Thanks again for your help!

(RESOLVED) error while loading shared libraries: libpng12.so.0:

Hello! I am trying to set up WRF V4 on Ubuntu 18.04.1. WRF compiled successfully and it seemed like WPS build all the executables, since they appeared and are not zero-sized, but the compile log (attached) didn't end with a message about executables being successfully built. Geogrid runs successfull...
