WRF systematic biases

Hi, I met some difficulties about the model uncertainties. How to take into account the model systematic biases (such as the uncertainties induced by physical scheme, initiation conditions and the year of simulation) in the results analysis? I used the raw results from the WRF output data to do some...

Hi, I am a beginner in the WRF-CHEM. I met some difficulties when I use convert_emiss.exe to get anthropogenic emission files, and the errors are shown below: 2410 forrtl: severe (24): end-of-file during read, unit -5, file Internal List-Directed Read 2411 Image PC Routine Line Source 2412 convert_e...

strange results in the simulation of RCP4.5/8.5 senarios

Is there anyone use the Global 6-hourly Bias-corrected CMIP5 CESM data sets as WRF background field? I got the simulation results that the 2-m temperature in RCP4.5 scenario is higher than that in RCP8.5 in many years, but some years such as 2050 are normal. The line chart represents the daily tempe...

forrtl: severe (66): output statement overflows record

Hi, I've met the following errors when I run ./wrf.exe. But if I set sst_update=0, the model will run successfully. The initial and background data is RCP85 download from RDA. And I also attached the namelist.input file. Is there anyone know the reason? I would be very grateful if anyone can help me...

start (end)_ Date should be set to the simulation time period and then create the corresponding time met_em* file. I only set the simulation start time.

I've solved the problem.

where can the land cover data in the future can be obtained?

Hi everyone, I'm planing to research the impact of future urban expansion on climate, but I don't know how to find the forecasts of future land cove. I've read some papers and got that some researchers used the urban expansion data generated by Seto et al. (2012), and the paper is as follow: Global ...

I see. Do you mind posting the plot of the one with your modification? Thanks!
The right figure is the one that replacing urban land type with cropland.

Re: about the land use and urban heat island

Hi, In the landuse plots you sent, you're saying that figure (a) shows the new landuse (after you modified it), correct? While figure (b) shows the original? If that's the case, it still looks like there is a large area of urban land (red) in the area where you modified, which would explain the hea...

Hi, Thanks for sending those. What are the surrounding landuse types outside the urban area? Do you happen to have a landuse plot you can send, that shows the types in the key? It's cropland. The land type before modification is shown in Fig(b). And I noticed that the greenfrac, lai and albedo are sm...

Re: about the land use and urban heat island

Hi, 1) At which stage of the WPS or WRF process did you modify the land type? Did you modify the geo_em* files, or perhaps later after running real.exe? 2) Is the temperature plot identical to the plot prior to modifying land type, or are you seeing a difference? If so, how do they compare? 3) Will...

FNL data only include 32 layers before 2019_6_12: 00, and after that time it is modified to 34 layers. When simulation includes this transition period, I need to modify the vertical layer with mod_levs.exe, but how to set the pressure value in the term of press_Pa?

I would like to ask you another question.
Can I add directly my spatially heterogeneous AH data to the sensible heat flux term which in wrfinput file?Because I saw a sentence in one paper(fllowing chart),but I am not sure I understand it correctly.
thanks.
