Restart run error

Hi, I am using the restart option to complete my long simulations with WRF-Chem 4.2. My first restart run was successful where I used wrfrst_d01_2016-09-15_00:00:00 file and again after successful run generated a wrfrst file after 15 days as wrfrst_d01_2016-09-30_00:00:00. For a test run I used the ...

Re: Plumerise bug

Hi Jordan, Mozbc maps space and time-varying species concentrations from input data (Mozart/CAM-Chem) datasets to WRF concentrations for initial condition and boundary conditions. I believe mozbc utility interpolates the input datasets in space (bilinearly in longitude, longitude and linearly in pre...

Re: Plumerise bug

Hi Jordan, Do you mean the raw CAM-Chem data looks fine but the wrfinput_d01 file has issues when processing the CAM-Chem data? Yes. The raw CAM Chem data looks fine and wrfinput file shows the erroneous so4_a04 plumes near the model top. I use mozbc to ingest CAM chem data for IC and BC. I also att...

Re: Plumerise bug

Hi Jordan, Thanks for the response. Indeed I did a ./clean -a after making changes in the registry and before recompiling. To confirm the questions you asked about input/ouput- The CAM-Chem data looks fine for so4/so2. The same issue exists when I turn off the bb emissions (i.e. setting biomass_burn...

Re: Plumerise bug

Hi Jordan, Thanks for your reply. Yes, I changed aem_so4 in module_mosaic_addemiss.F and set it to = 0.0 I also tested your previous suggestion - Adding the ebu_in_sulf, and ebu_sulf to registry.chem under the biomass_burn_opt==2 package and adding a line to add the sulf ebu_in to the ebu array in m...

Re: Plumerise bug

Hi Jordan, I am using version 4.2 and I have also tested versions 4.1 and 3.9.1. I am experiencing the same error as Lin and Neeldip for chem 201. I get 'large total sw optical depth' warnings over certain locations in my domain and I get large so4_a04 plumes starting at level 19 and going up to the...

Re: Problem Compiling WRFV4.0 on Fedora 28

Hi, I am not using the moving nest option and perhaps may not require for my purpose. To confirm, given this my build should work fine for basic nesting? Just to reiterate I solved by copying the contents of landread.c.dist to landread.c in share directory in WRFV3. I also had to change the paths of...

Re: Problem Compiling WRFV4.0 on Fedora 28

Hi, Update - I was able to solve the error. I had to Copy landread.c.dist to landread.c in share directory for WRFV3 and that solved the issue. However, I am not sure what does that do? Does this mean moving nest option won't be available with this build? I'd really appreciate any insights into this...

Re: Problem Compiling WRFV4.0 on Fedora 28

Hi, The error related to cpp was the first error I got and I found that the location of cpp in my machine is different so I changed the path in configure.wrf from CPP = /lib/cpp -P -nostdinc to this CPP = /lustre/sw/gcc/8.2.0/bin/cpp -P -nostdinc this solved the cpp error. After fixing this issue I ...

Re: Ccompiling error: /lib/cpp: No such file or directory

Hi,

I solved this issue and ran into another similar to this one here http://forum.mmm.ucar.edu/phpBB3/viewto ... ?f=37&t=61
The solution doesn't seem to work for me and I added a query in this post.
Could you please take a look at my question there and help me locate the issue.

Thanks

Persistent error :Could not find matching time in input file wrffirechemi

Hi, I am using the WRF-chem version 4.1 and using MOZART/GOCART option to simulate chemistry. I am using anthro_emis and mozbc utilities. I am trying a basic test run and I can not solve the following error (rsl file attached) after trying various debugging solutions. There seem to be no mismatch in...

Re: error : error opening wrfchemi_gocart_bg_d01

Hi Jordan,

Thanks for your response.

I see switching off the dust_opt == 1 solved the .real.exe complaint.

I, however, am unsure how to create the file (I wish to include dust emissions in my simulations). I am using anthro_emiss tool.
I appreciate any leads in this.

Thanks, prerita

Re: Duplicate 4d VARS in the wrfbdy_d01

Hi Jordan,

I am not getting any error. I do not understand why the 4 copies of each variable in boundary conditions are there in my wrfbdy_d01 file (as shown in the screenshot attached).

Is something wrong with the wrfbdy file?

Thanks, Prerita

Duplicate 4d VARS in the wrfbdy_d01

Hi,

I am getting an unusual error while running the .real.exe and the resulting wrfbdy_d01 nc file.
It seems to show a large number of 4dVARS in the wrfbdy.
I attach here my namelist.input and a screen view of ncview showing the variables.

Many thanks for the help!
