Sorry for the late response.
Yes, the update meant that I made a mistake and I was running with 32 processes. Unfortunately it failed again.

Re: Program received signal SIGBUS: Access to an undefined portion of a memory object.
UPDATE I made a mistake: I've been running it with 32 processes and it haven't finished yet Hi. Sorry for the late answer. I have enough disk space. I looked at the met_em* files but I haven't spotted anything strange. I've also uploaded the files that you asked me to in nextCloud so that you can t...

Re: Program received signal SIGBUS: Access to an undefined portion of a memory object.
Hi, I think the number of processors you're using is okay. I agree that seg-faults are difficult to figure out. 1) Take a look at this FAQ regarding common reasons for segmentation faults: https://forum.mmm.ucar.edu/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=73&t=133 2) As you sent several of the rsl* files, it's like...

Re: Program received signal SIGBUS: Access to an undefined portion of a memory object.
I tried executing the model with less processors with the hope that something might change. Typically the execution of the model ends withing few seconds with the mentioned error. I tried with 20 procs and the model was running for 38 minutes but in the end it failed again. And the error logs are th...

Program received signal SIGBUS: Access to an undefined portion of a memory object.
Hi, I have a problem running WRF on domain with a nest inside. Running WRF fails with the following error: =================================================================================== = BAD TERMINATION OF ONE OF YOUR APPLICATION PROCESSES = PID 1376 RUNNING AT 4f09ebffaa69 = EXIT CODE: 7 = CL...

Output time interval is not an hour
Hi,
I noticed that the interval between two time points in my result output file is not 1 hour but 59 minutes and 24 seconds.
Is it possible to change this ? The history_interval property in namelist.input is set to 60 minutes.

Can WRF create summary forecast for a whole day ?
Hi, I was wondering if it is possible for WRF to summarize the hourly forecast in some sort of a average forecast for the whole day ? I could not find any configuration for namelist.input file and maybe there isn't one, but I'll be very glad if somebody can shed some light over this matter. The reas...

Re: Comparison of WRF output and MODIS data
You may average WRF hourly data to obtain daily mean value, seen compare with MODIS. Note that this is only a rough comparison and cannot yield accurate results. Hi, I've already tried averaging the data but the results have shown that the outputs are quite different. So I thought that there should...

Comparison of WRF output and MODIS data
Hi, I am trying to verify my results from WRF using data from MODIS (particularly cloud optical thickness). MODIS gives data for the whole day but the data from WRF is hourly and I am not sure how to compare the data properly. Can somebody help with that problem and maybe suggest a way of verifying ...

Re: Cloud optical thickness output (TAUCLDI and TAUCLDC) is always 0
Hi, I think I found a solution. In case somebody else has the same problem I tried with the CAM (code 3) scheme both for ra_sw/lw_physics. With this scheme I got non-zero values for the properties. Now I have to check if the values are correct. If somebody has an idea how to do that, I will be very ...

Re: Cloud optical thickness output (TAUCLDI and TAUCLDC) is always 0
Hi, yes I have modified the lines that you've mentioned in the same way but the values of TAUCLDI and TAUCLDC are always zero for each point, each time. I tried the model with that config at different times of the year but the result is always the same. And that makes me think that the model is not ...

Cloud optical thickness output (TAUCLDI and TAUCLDC) is always 0
Hello, for some time I am trying to obtain data for cloud optical thickness from wrf model. However, the output values for the TAUCLDI (CLOUD OPTICAL THICKNESS FOR ICE) and TAUCLDC (CLOUD OPTICAL THICKNESS FOR WATER) are always 0. As far as I know this means that the model is not computing these val...

Re: Why GRIB file must be linked and have specific extenssion
Hi,
Thank you for the response. I might need to use more grib files than the currently possible.
Can this be done only by modifying the link_grib.csh or changes are needed in the ungrib source ?

(RESOLVED) Why GRIB file must be linked and have specific extenssion
Hi, as a new user I was wondering why the provided to ungrib data must be linked and why isn't there property in namelist.wps that points to directory with the input files ? Also why the number of input files is limited by the number of different extensions (AAA, AAB, ...) ? What happens if I need t...

Re: "CLOUD OPTICAL THICKNESS FOR ICE" and "CLOUD OPTICAL THICKNESS FOR WATER" not present in output of WRF
Hi Ming Chen , thank you for the clear answer. I did what you've described and now the vars are available in the output from WRF. The strange thing is that all the values are zeros. Is it possible that some more data must be provided to the model in order to make forecast for the variables. Currentl...

"CLOUD OPTICAL THICKNESS FOR ICE" and "CLOUD OPTICAL THICKNESS FOR WATER" not present in output of WRF
Hi, I am new to WRF and I want to obtain "CLOUD OPTICAL THICKNESS FOR ICE" (TAUCLDI) and "CLOUD OPTICAL THICKNESS FOR WATER" (TAUCLDC) from the WRF forecast. The problem is that the variables are not present in the WRF output. I use WRF V4 and my namelist.input file for physics looks like this: &phy...
