Re: Running WRF with CESM2 data

Ming, thanks for confirming the compilation flags. What about my question on geopotential height I asked in the previous post (" Among 3D mandatory input variables there is the geopotential height. I have interpolated original CESM2 data from model levels to constant pressure levels and I do not pro...

Re: Running WRF with CESM2 data

Ming, thanks for getting back to me. Finally I decided to create pseudo 6h surface data for soil moisture and soil temperature, so each met_em file contains the proper axes; I tried this solution and both real and wrf run without any problem. Anyway, thanks for the proposed changes. Now, I have just...

Re: Running WRF with CESM2 data

Ming, After struggling a while with CESM2 data, I have been able to create grib files for WPS. I successfully ran ungrib with daily surface and 6h 3D data and metgrid works fine setting fg_name = "SFC", "UPA". However, I noted that only the first met_em file (i.e. XXXX-01-01_00:00:00) contains soil ...

Re: Running WRF with CESM2 data

Ming,
thanks for the clarifications; gonna try and let you know ASAP (I need a few days to prepare all data).

Running WRF with CESM2 data

Hi All, I would drive WRF with output from CESM2 and I am looking for some suggestions to prepare all required variables for real.exe. While I found 3D data (TT, UU, VV, SPECHUM) at 6h intervals, for surface variables like SOILM, SOILM and PMSL I only have daily data. In case of 10m wind components,...

Hi Ming, thanks for the clarification, that makes sense.

Re: Problem with SST_INPUT

Hi Ming, thanks for the quick reply. I double checked the wrflowinp file and it has correct time-varying SSTs, as displayed in the attached figure. I also re-ran the model with sst_skin = 0, but it does not fix the issue. Any other suggestions? The odd part is that SSTs from wrfout have realistic va...

Problem with SST_INPUT

Hi All, I am performing some simulations with WRF and I am able to complete the runs without any error. However, looking at the output I realized that SST_INPUT contains all constant zero-values, although I have correct values into wrflowinp_d01. I am using these flags into the namelist to update th...

Empty sst_input

Hi All, I have successfully created the wrflowinp_d01 file and now I am running WRF with options: sst_update = 1, sst_skin = 1, However, looking at the variable SST_INPUT it contains all constant 0 values, although the SST are well defined into wrflowinp_d01. Besides, both SST and SSTSK display reas...
