Re: initial time cannot be plotted?

Hi Chen,

Maybe you could help me with this? Like your colleagues did before at: viewtopic.php?f=49&t=10405&p=22229#p22229

Thank you very much for your support in advance.

Best,

Re: what else input data for sf_urban_physics

Dear Ming, Sorry for the confusion. Please allow me to explain my question: I ran urban canopy model (option1) and building environment parameterization (option2), but I am not sure whether there is a need to modify the other WRF internal configuration files in addition to namelist files. By only ch...

Re: what else input data for sf_urban_physics

Hi Chen, Thanks for your prompt reply. But for the internal files, in addition to namelist.input and namelist.wps, for example, I think maybe I need to change some parameters in URBPARM.TBL? https://ral.ucar.edu/solutions/products/urban-canopy-model I attached the file for your check. Best wishes, S...

what else input data for sf_urban_physics

Dear Colleagues, I would like to know whether there is a need to interpolate external data for the physics options of sf_urban_physics? Urban Surface (sf_urban_physics – replacing old switch ucmcall): a. Urban canopy model (1): 3-category UCM option with surface effects for roofs, walls, and streets...

Re: surface_input_source = 3, mismatch_landmask_ivgtyp error

Dear Colleague, Many thanks for your kind reply. I use WRF 3.8.1, and the input data maybe indicate Geographical Static Data, which were downloaded from https://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/users/download/get_sources_wps_geog_V3.html By the way, could you please kindly have a look at the other two question...

surface_input_source = 3, mismatch_landmask_ivgtyp error

Dear Colleagues, For the 'surface_input_source', I can only use option 1, but when I use the default option (3), it reported the error below: ************************ Max map factor in domain 1 = 0.98. Scale the dt in the model accordingly. Using sfcprs3 to compute psfc d01 2019-06-11_00:00:00 flag ...

confusion about the programme stop

Dear Colleagues,

I am very confused about the programme stop, the attachment includes namelist.wps, namelist.input and my rsl.error.0000.

Time Range: 2019-6-11_00:00:00 to 2019-6-14_23:00:00

But it stops at 2019-06-14_06:28:03

Really need your help! Many thanks.

Best wishes,

Re: process mode for the resolution of new geographical static data

Dear Colleague, Many thanks for your detailed reply. I think maybe my expression for question 3 is inappropriate, I may need to re-ask this question: I would like to know which model is handled by WRF, Digital Surface Model or Digital Terrain Model (specifically Digital Elevation Model)? Best wishes...

setting issues for several WRF parameters

Dear Colleagues, I would like to know the following questions about some namelist options: 1. My dx of three domains are 4500, 1500, 500 m. Can I set the cu_physics as below? What are the differences between the two settings? cu_physics = 2,2,0, or cu_physics = 2,2,2, 2. For surface_input_source, wh...

wrfout is divided into two files

Dear Colleagues, I am very confused about my running result. I set the history_interval as 5 min, but the wrfout is always divided into two files: wrfout_d03_2019-06-11_00:00:00 wrfout_d03_2019-06-14_11:20:00 I also ran WRF with 10, 30 and 60 mins history_intervals, the results are normal. Could you...

Re: process mode for the resolution of new geographical static data

Hi, Thank you very much for your reply. process mode for the resolution of new geographical static data

Dear Colleagues, In our team meeting, we discussed an interesting question about the model configuration. As we know, the spatial resolution of WRF normally is 1 km. If we use the local climate zone as an urban landscape map, with 30 m spatial resolution, how does WRF handle the input data that are ...
