Re: wrf_user_vert_interp,and fatal:wrf_vintrp

Hello, It is necessary that your QVAPOR still have the time dimension when you pass it into wrf_user_vert_interp. When you just read in the one time NCL gets rid of that dimension. If you read in all the times like this: QV = f0->QVAPOR then interpolate and then take out time 5 it should work just f...

Hi,

I'm sorry, but I don't really understand your questions. Are you just trying to extract the variable from the output, or calculate it?

Using the XLAT, XLONG variables in the met_em file will work. I do not know why the values in the auxhist file are wrong.

Re: Interpolate WRF data to observational data

Hi Lara, If you want to pull out the time series from the wrf data for each lat/lon location you can use this function: http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Document/Functions/WRF_arw/wrf_user_ll_to_xy.shtml You give the lat/lon you want and it gives you the xy coordinate in the wrf domain where you can then pul...

Hi Stefano,

You can use the funtion wrf_user_vert_interp to do this automatically!

Let me know if you have further questions.

Re: RE: Need verification for Temperature Extraction and Temperature anomalies Scripts

Hi, I'm not quite sure I understand your question, but after looking at your code, depending on what version of NCL you are using I can suggest one change that could solve your problem. If you are using 6.6.0 or later 'wrf_user_ll_to_ij' is now deprecated and you can use wrf_user_ll_to_xy instead. h...

Re: ncl shows error with wrf plot

The issue is that NCL cannot find the variable HGT in the wrf file. Are you sure it is in your wrf file? This is what you try to call on line 73.

Hello, I can't see that you have attached a figure so I don't know exactly what you need, but you should be able to easily make these changes. The NCL page has a lot of examples of how to make these changes: http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/list_tech.shtml Also, depending on the functions you ar...

If you are by chance using any of the wrf plotting routines, it often automatically adds labels. A way to remove it would be to add this:

Re: wrf_user_vert_cross

Hi, Your issue is that because this is interpolating between levels it cannot go lower than the lowest level, which is always above ground level. You are interpolating to Z, which by definition here is height above mean sea level. However, you will want to make a new Z which will be height above gro...

Hi Carina, I have tested your script on some of my data. I got the same result as you initially. Re: Error plotting wind rose

I'm not sure I understand. Do you want all the times in the wind rose? If so, the easiest thing to do might be to use the NCO function ncrcat. This will concatenate all your files together into one file.

ncrcat file1.nc file2.nc file3.nc alltimes.nc

Re: Error plotting wind rose

Hi Kunal, I'm sorry I missed this the first time, but your lat and lon should be swapped in wrf_user_ll_to_ij. It should look like this: loc = wrf_user_ll_to_ij(f,177.6814,-17.5564,True) Also, make sure you load the wind rose library before the beginning of the script like so: load "$NCARG_ROOT/lib/...
