Too many time periods for processing data in OBSGRID

I'm trying to run OBSGRID for a period of 6 months with hourly data, but when I excede 1000 hours I get the following error message: Time period #00997 is for date 2019-02-13_12:00:00 Time period #00998 is for date 2019-02-13_13:00:00 Time period #00999 is for date 2019-02-13_14:00:00 Time period #0...

Replacing the LANDMASK with LANDSEA

I have some problems modelling on the wind direction output in the coast a bay area. I think it mostly come from the representation of the land/sea cycle. I think this must come from the use of the LANDSEA mask in ungrib, which has lower definition than LANDMASK in GEOGRID. So currently I'm using ER...

Re: error while running with observational nudging

well, it seems it was my mistake.
When I did the code, I forgot to add the last to input for precipitation.(-888888 -888888 in my case) and I didn't see it when I checked against the output from obsgrid.
So now it seems to run ok.

Thanks kwerner. I hasn't been able to run the tests, but when I get the results I'll post them here for confirmation.

(SOLVED) floating invalid error while running with observational nudging

I've had problems trying to run with observational nudging. This is what I've done so far. I created surface station data with my own script, so I've got little_r and OBS_DOMAINXX this way. little_r are read ok by obsgrid, and obs_domain are the same as obsgrid output. I tried to run RT_fdda_reforma...

Re: Does bucket_mm and Bucket_j works with the fast version of the RRTMG scheme (24)?

I'm running WRF 4.2.1, so I was looking at this guide: http://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/users/docs/user_guide_v4/v4.2/users_guide_chap5.html Under "7. Other physics options"/"b. Other options for long simulations (new in Version 3.1)": - bucket_J: bucket reset value for energy accumulations (value in Jo...

Using SRTM1 data

I found a very easy way to use SRTM1 data as input for geogrid with qgis and convert_geotiff. So you have to follow these steps: 1 - Install the SRTM-Downloader plugin (https://github.com/hdus/SRTM-Downloader) 2 - download the domain you need with the plugin. This step is slow, and you need a accoun...

I finally changed to ERA5 as input data. The SST can be downloaded alone if anyone wants them.

Re: Does bucket_mm and Bucket_j works with the fast version of the RRTMG scheme (24)?

I'm doing some tests now.
I'm not sure if ti's using it because in the guide says "Only works with CAM and RRTMG radiation (ra_lw_physics = 3 and 4 and ra_sw_physics = 3 and 4) options" and I'm not sure how to check if these options are working.

Re: WRF 4.2.1, real.exe immediate segmentation fault

The only thing I see is that you're missing a coma after the smooth option. The default output should be: Quilting with 1 groups of 0 I/O tasks. I've never had this error, but I think the main problem might be with the compiler. I would check first if the configure options are ok for the compiler yo...

Does bucket_mm and Bucket_j works with the fast version of the RRTMG scheme (24)?

I want to know if the bucket_mm and Bucket_j works with the fast version of the RRTMG scheme (24). Here is the options I'm using: ra_lw_physics = 24, 24, 24, 24, ra_sw_physics = 24, 24, 24, 24, bucket_mm = 100.0, bucket_J = 1.e9,

how to compile WRF with intel mkl libray

I've read some tests using intel mkl library that gets really good improvements in running time, so I tried to test it, compiled succesfully, but it didn't run. I use the recomended form intel mkl link advisor. I set the configure.wrf like this:First I set the external libraries: LIB_EXTERNAL = \ -L...

Question about elevation and height in little_r format

I'm using some weather stations (FM-12 SYNOP) and a weather tower (FM-35 TEMP) as input in OBSPROC in little_r format. And there is two parameters which I have some doubts. First, in the header there is an elevation parameter, which is same as topography, above sea level. But I don't know and I have...

SST historical data download

I'm tryineg to download NOAA SST high resolution from ftp://polar.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/history/sst/rtg_high_res
but it only has the last 10 days.
I need the data for the 2015 and 2019 years, but I haven't been able to find them. Does any one knows where are these files?
