How to make sense of gts_omb_oma files?

Hi,
When I try running 3dvar, gts_omb_oma files are produced. I have read that these files contain (observation - background) and (observation-analysis) information. I am not able to understand which column contains what data.
Could you please help me understand what each field/column in the file means?
Also, how exactly can I tell if any of my observations have been assimilated. Which files do I have to look at for that? Are there any namelist options that need to be set specifically?

I believe the last five columns written are:

Observation, Observation - Background, QCflag, Observation error, Observation - Analysis
