Hi all,

I am confused about the 4 types of land use about urban in USGS data in the LANDUSE.TBL:

1. 'Urban and Built-Up Land'
31. 'Low Intensity Residential '
32. 'High Intensity Residential'
33. 'Industrial or Commercial'

What is the difference between type 1 and the other 3 types?
Looking forward to your reply. Many thanks in advance.

1. 'Urban and Built-Up Land'

This is the urban type defined in USGS landuse dataset.

The following three types are more detailed categorization of urban land use type.

31. 'Low Intensity Residential '
32. 'High Intensity Residential'
33. 'Industrial or Commercial'

When you run WRF with urban physics on (sf_urban_physics != 0), the above three more detailed landuse type is supposed to better represent urban characteristics.
