Does anybody know the best way to compute back trajectories from wrfout files, or if there is documentation on what to add to the namelist prior to running wrf.exe to retrieve the proper variables to compute back trajectories? Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,
The RIP post-processor has the capability to easily compute back trajectories. If interested, you can get the RIP source code from this page:
http://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/users/download/get_sources_pproc_util.html

and can find additional documentation here: http://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/users/docs/ripug.htm
