Registration deadline has been extended to 22 April 2022!

Unified Forecast System – METplus Hackathon
05/02 – 06/29
Virtual on Amazon Cloud

Graduate students are invited to form hackathon teams with the purpose of using the Model Evaluation Tools (METplus) verification system (https://dtcenter.org/community-code/model-evaluation-tools-met) for mining the Unified Forecast System (UFS) subseasonal-to-seasonal (S2S) experimental products (https://registry.opendata.aws/noaa-ufs-s2s/).

Participation is limited to 10 teams. The top two teams will be awarded the following prizes:
  • 1st place: Summer fellowship at DTC (Boulder) or NCEP’s EMC
  • 2nd place: HPC hours to run the UFS model on a cloud platform under the guidance of an EPIC mentor
