About the boundary setting of the simulation area of the WRF

The lateral boundaries of WRF domain, no matter it is a parent domain or a child domain, should be located over relatively flat terrain area and avoid steep topography.

Thank you for your reply! Due to the large lateral extent of the desired region, I set the dx to 27000, which leads to the fact that no matter how much the parent domain is expanded, its left border will inevitably lie on the Tibetan Plateau. Unless it is narrowed down to the vicinity of the subdomain, or expanded to cover the entire Tibetan Plateau. Perhaps you have a better suggestion?
Here are the boundaries of the subdomain as close as possible to the chosen study area:
&geogrid

parent_id = 1,
parent_grid_ratio = 3,
i_parent_start = 26,
j_parent_start = 23,
e_we = 172,
e_sn = 121,
dx = 27000,
dy = 27000,
map_proj = 'lambert',
ref_lat = 36.1,
ref_lon = 114.0,
truelat1 = 37.5,
truelat2 = 37.5,
stand_lon = 111.4,

I would suggest you reduce the size of D01, and makes it located to the east and north of the Plateau. Personally I think this is more feasible.

But you need to consider the case you intend to study and the dominant synoptic systems that affect the area of your interest, then decide where you domain should be located.
