Add new variables to WRF scheme for caculation

Hi,
I want to add some new variables related to the orography to WRF pbl scheme for caculation, the dimensions are same as the Model terrain height. But I don't know how to operate. At which step should I add them ? Should I add them in WPS geo_em.d0*.nc ?

Hi Luo,
You can add them to geo_em* files, or to the met_em* files. It's your choice.

Thank you for your answer. Another question, where can I find tihe method to add variables to the geo/met*files and how does WRF identify them for caculation?

There are probably several places you'll need to modify the code to include the new variable, and it will depend on where you want to add in the variable. Here are some references that may be useful when modifying the code:
