Hello,
I am currently working on integrating the aerosol-aware Thompson microphysics scheme into my WRF simulations, which requires additional data for water-friendly and ice-friendly aerosols. I have successfully run the WRF model using the example files provided (WRF Model Users Site), but this data is limited to the period from 2001 to 2007. I am currently considering using the MERRA-2 mixing ratios dataset (National Aeronautics and Space Administration - MERRA-2 inst3_3d_aer_Nv: 3d,3-Hourly, Instantaneous,Model-Level,Assimilation,Aerosol Mixing Ratio 0.625 x 0.5 degree V5.12.4 (M2I3NVAER) at GES DISC), which includes several variables (photo attached), and I am also not sure whether this dataset is the appropriate source for this purpose? (or any other suggestion) If it is, I would also appreciate guidance on which specific variables should be utilized and the steps required to generate the "QNWFA_QNIFA_SIGMA_MONTHLY" data from them (MERRA-2). Thank you for your time and consideration.
