I want to calculate the surface exchange coefficient for heat with the WRF output variables. I think I found the file- associated with chosen surface scheme (MYJSFC, sf_sfclay_physics=2, sf_surface_physics=2) -module_sf_myjsfc.F, where the subroutine SFCDIF calculates AKHS. The only variables that I cannot identify are SIMH components like ZSL,PSIH1?PSHZL?PSHZ? Any ideas?

Please take a look at the paper
Janjic, Zavisa I., 1994: The Step–Mountain Eta Coordinate Model: Further developments of the convection, viscous sublayer, and turbulence closure schemes. Mon. Wea. Rev., 122, 927–945. doi:10.1175/1520-0493(1994)122%3c0927:TSMECM%3e2.0.CO;2

But what is THELOW? Is it potential temperature? "normal" temperature? And despite the fact that I have read mentioned article over and over I have problem in veryfing what in wrf is DZETA1 and ZETA1? because for me it should be identical.
