Hi,

I want to ask what is the default value of Gravity Wave Drag Scheme (gwd_opt) in WRF V4.0.3. I did not specify the value in namelist.input. It is turned on by default? User's Guide doesn't say anything about the default value.

Hi Xun,
The default in the code (found in the Registry/Registry.EM_COMMON file) is to have it turned off (set to 0), but in the default namelist.input file in the test/em_real directory, or in the run/ directory, it is turned on to option 1.
