How to run baroclinic wave simulation in the WRF model

Dear Sir or Madam, I am interested in the dynamics of extratropical cyclones and have previously only conducted real-time simulations. Could you kindly provide any reference materials or share some insights regarding baroclinic wave simulations? For example, what are the methods for preparing an initial condition field?

WRF provides an option for ideal baroclinic wave simulation. Unfortunately we lost the code for creating initial condition for this case.
