Initial lake temperatures from nearest SSTs?

Greetings,

I just realized that my lake temperatures are not being initialized to TAVGSFC because I did not process this in WPS. However, in WRF, I am running with the lake model on (sf_lake_physics = 1). What is the initial lake temperature? Is it the nearest SST value, or is it an assumed profile? I couldn't exactly tell from digging through the code...

If you didn't run avg_tsfc.exe, then the initial skin temperature over lake is extrapolated SST from the nearby ocean.
