Is there a way to run only one variable in ERA5 when running WRF with FNL data?

Hi, I'm mini, a graduate student.

I have a simple question. When I run WRF, I usually use FNL. grib2 data, but I heard that ERA5 soil moisture is wetter. So when I run the experiment, I want to use fnl for all variables, but ERA5 for soil moisture 1,2,3,4. But I'm worried because the soil layer depths of ERA5 and GFS are different. In this case, does WRF do it automatically, or do I have to preprocess the grib file myself?

You can process ERA5 soil data and use it as input for WRF. A detailed description how to use multiple large-scale forcing data as input is described in the WRF USER's GUIDE. Please see Chapter 3: WRF Standard Initialization
