Is WRF variable ZNT equivalent to z0

Hello,

I am using WRF output to derive 2-meter wind speed from 10-meter wind speed using Monin-Obukhov Similarity Theory (MOST).

I would like to confirm if the ZNT (surface roughness length) variable output stands for the z0 used in MOST ?

Hi Dimitris, Apologies for the delay. Between support staff travel and our users workshop, we haven't had much time to dedicate to forum inquiries. Thank you for being patient with us.

I believe the calculation for ZNT depends on the physics options used during simulation. You can try searching for ZNT in the WRF/phys files and then looking at the calculation in the file(s) that correspond with the options you're using. If you're still not sure, please attach your namelist.input file and let me know which version of WRF you're using and I'll try to figure it out for you.
