Issue with user-defined output streams when using adaptive time stepping?

Hi all,

Does adaptive time stepping get messed up with user-defined output streams if I'm using a different output frequency for the user-defined stream? I.e., does the integration time not converge toward the write-out time step for the user-defined streams? I'm using stream 7 and WRFv4.6.0.

Hi James,
I don't believe requesting user-defined output streams will mess up adaptive time-step, but it's possible the streams will not be written at the times expected. There is an option, "step_to_output_time=.true." that could help, but it may only help with output to the history stream. I'm not sure.
