metgrid - SST interpolation

I am trying to run a climate simulation using the initial conditions of a CMIP6 model (2.8° resolution)

The results show inconsistencies with some variables: SST and T2.

I attached results from a wrfout_d01, where the SST is not interpolated, which affects other variables such as T2.

Then, I'm checking met_em.d01 and wrfinput_d01, and found that SST is never interpolated.

I think the problem is in METGRID.TBL but I don't know how to proceed.

I appreciate any guidance on this error.

Caro

Hi,
Apologies for the long delay in response. If you are still experiencing this problem, are you using an external SST data (in addition to the CMIP6 input)? If so, do you also include a landsea mask with it?

Thanks, I could solve it.

I changed the SST interpolation in METGRID.TBL.

name=SST
interp_option=sixteen_pt+wt_average_16pt+search
masked=land
interp_mask=LANDSEA(1)
fill_missing=-1.E30
missing_value=-1.E30
flag_in_output=FLAG_SST

After that, landsea mak and SST in the wrfinput file were interpolated correctly, therefore the wrftouts look better.
