Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone knows whether mix_full_fields should be true or false for real data cases? I'm getting slightly confused by the user guide, which says in the section on dynamics options:
"mix_full_fields=.true. : only when setting “diff_opt=2” and only for ideal simulations, allows vertical diffusion to act on full fields (not just on perturbation from the 1D base profile"
which suggests to me it should be switched to false for real data cases, but in the namelist section of the user guide says:
"used with diff_opt=2; recommended setting is .true. except for highly-idealized numerical tests; damp_opt must not =1; a setting of .false. subtracts 1D base-state profile before mixing"
which suggests to me it should be switched to true for real data cases.
Can anyone clarify this?
Cheers,
Emily
