OBSGRID output. Is this correct? What "observations successfully ingested" means?

Hello, so ive run the obsgrid.exe ofr the first time and get the message on the obsgrid.out :
Time Loop Processing, date = 2024-09-07_06:00:00

Using ./OBS_DOMAINd01:2024-09-07_06 as obs input file

Number of observations successfully ingested: 1.
Number of empty observations discarded: 0.
Number of observations discarded outside of domain: 0.

For each domain file there is only one observations successfully ingested, idont know is this is correct, ive seem some people with more (40+). What this obsarvational ingested mean exactly? because my observational file has all this variable: temp, hum, windir, windspeed, rain daily. I dont know if I should have more Number of observations successfully ingested.

OBSGRID is more appropriate for assimilating dense observations over a specific area. If the observations are sparsely distributed, then OBSGRID shouldn't be used.
In your case, if only 1 observation is valid for use in your domain, I don't think it is necessary to run OBSGRID.

Hi, thanks for your reply. So all my data (temp, hum, windir, windspeed, rain daily) comes from a single personal met station, my csv have data from jan 2024 until now, this is considerable dense observations? What does this one valid observation mean? Its a station issue, should I have more observation data from other stations? Could be a set up problem on obsgrid? the config file, i think i have converted the csv file to little_r correctly.

Another question. If I add more time(data) on obsgrid, like from 2024-07-07 to 2024-10-07 (3 months) ,that "Number of observations successfully ingested" will be bigger?

No, observations collected at a single station cannot be considered as dense observations. For OBSGRID to work well, you need to get observations from multiple stations within your study area.
It is correct that you should convert cvs data to little_r format data.

I am not sure whether the 'number' refers to stations or record length. Need to look into the codes ....

Ok thanks, so I can use data from two stations, should be good?

Ok thank you. Do you know if the precipitation from the observational data and the .grid file are combined into one precipitation data, as if it were an average value?

Ok, so is there a way to incorporate observational preciptation data, like combine the input base preciptation with my station preciptation data?
