Outputting existing variables that are not already included in wrfout files

You can revise Registry.EM_COMMON by adding 'h' in the 8th column of the line corresponding to the variable you want to output. You will then need to do a 'clean -a' and then reconfigure and recompile WRF.

Another (probably easier) way is to use the run-time output method. See the Runtime I/O Option
