p_top_requested < grid%p_top possible from data (allowable grid%p_top in data = 13510801139695616. )

Dear all,

No matter how I modify the parameters in namelist, or even change the data source, it always gives the following error. Does anyone know how to solve this?

“allowable grid%p_top in data = 13510801139695616. ” The top layer pressure value is obviously unreasonable.

I have attached my namelist.wps and namelist.input files.

Apologies for the long delay in response. Due to the holidays, illness, and preparing for our WRF tutorial, we've gotten a bit behind on forum inquiries. Thank you so much for your patience. Since a few weeks have passed since you first posted this, I first want to ask if you're still experiencing this issue, or if you were able to find a solution?

If it's still an issue, can you let me know what different types of input data you've tried to use, and whether you've made any modifications to the WRF code files? Thanks!

Thanks for your reply! I haven't found a solution yet. I tried running different data and it shows the same error. Since I have been testing remotely on the university's cluster, I don't have administrator privileges, so I'm not sure if there is a problem with the download and configuration. I plan to download and test WRF again on my local computer using a virtual machine to see if the same problem occurs again.

Okay, yes, do that, and let me know if you're seeing the same issue. If you are still having problems, can you package up a few of your input data files and the Vtable you're using so that I can test with them? The files may be small enough to attach here, but if not, see the forum home page for instructions on sharing large files. Thanks!
