Snow Surface In WRF-SCM

Hi!

I am making my first attempt at using the WRF single column model. I am modifying the test code to run some sensitivity tests with different surface parameterization settings over a melting snow surface. Ideally, I will force this using warm advection from a 3D model. So far, I managed to create an input sounding and change the solar forcing, but I was wondering how to place snow at the surface of the single column? Can this be done by simply modifying the input files created in ideal.exe?

Thanks!

Erik

I agree that you can add snow to your initial data. Since the land surface scheme used in SCM is Noah, which is able to handle snow physics, I suppose that adding snow to initial condition should work.
