Soil Parameters

Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well. I have two questions about soil parameters.

1) Which namelist.input variables activate the use of soil parameters, or are they always used? I have been thinking that only some of the sf_surface_physics models use soil parameters.

2) In SOILPARM.TBL, there is a classification called "OTHER (land-ice)". Does this mean that "OTHER" includes both any other classification and land-ice, or does it refer only to land-ice? It is not clear to me.

soil parameters are always used for real-data WRF simulation. For some ideal cases (e.g. LES etc.) that don't activate surface physics scheme , soil information will not be used.

It refers to land-ice.
