The movement of the center of tropical cyclone in an idealized case

Dear Community,
I am working on the idealized tropical cyclone case with no environmental flow and constant Coriolis parameter. The run was finished successfully. No code is changed in my case. The namelist and figure about TC center are attached as follows. Detailed information is in the (/glade/work/cjiaxin/wrfv4.5_shift_location) of Derecho.

But the TC center shifts its location after day 4, which doesn’t make sense to me.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I saw a WRF tutorial on Youtube provided by wrfhelp NCAR-MMM (
), whose TC center does not shift location. I would like to know whether I can have the namelist, the compile information and original data for the case.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Sincerely,
Jiaxin

Hi,
Apologies for the delay in response. I'm not sure I see what you mean about the center shifting location. I looked at your attached plots, as well as some of the output in your running directory and it looks like the center of the storm pretty much stays in the same location. However, if you'd like to see a copy of the default namelist for that case, you can find it in /glade/work/wrfhelp/derecho_pre_compiled_code/wrfv4.5.2/test/em_tropical_cyclone.
