Hello all,

I am interested in turning off latent heating over a specific area however I have run into an issue.

Where the latent heating appears to be calculated in the module_big_step_utilities_em.F file there is no variable used to specify the domain that is used. With this being a nested run the i and j positions over which I will want to turn off latent heating will vary so it is necessary for me to be able to specify the domain I am working with.

I am aware of the capability to turn off latent heating over the whole domain however this will not suffice for what I am trying to look at and doing a localized turning off of the latent heat is necessary.

Probably you can try to turn off LH in surface driver. You can add a piece of code in the driver, specify LH to be zero over the specific area. Hope this works.
