Dear WRF modeling experts,
I am currently working on a project where I aim to incorporate HYSPLIT model concentration output into WRF, treating it as aerosols, in order to analyze how it affects cloud formation and precipitation efficiency.
So far, I have converted the HYSPLIT output into NetCDF format and used CDO to regrid it to match the geogrid resolution. Then, I injected the HYSPLIT variables into the met_em.d0* files generated by metgrid.exe. I also configured the necessary settings in the Registry to include these new variables.
However, despite all of this, the variables from the HYSPLIT output are not appearing in the wrfinput_d01 file.
I am unsure whether I am making a mistake in this process or if I am simply taking a method that is unnecessarily complex. I would deeply appreciate your guidance on whether my approach is valid, and if not, what a better or more proper method would be.
Thank you very much in advance.
