Validation of temperature and wind speed data from wrfout

I used Pressure level data (GetERA5-pl.py) for model input.
Considering that these data are very similar to observational data, can I use these data to validate the wrf outputs of wind speed and temperature?
and if the answer is yes, why?

Hi,
I'm not certain I fully understand your question. You want to use your input data to compare to the WRF output? The reason for using the WRF model is to be able to run at a higher resolution that most input data sources and to use specialized physics schemes and options to hopefully improve the forecast from that of a coarse-resolution first-guess model. Therefore we would expect the results to be different (and hopefully better) than the input data.
