Validation of the SMS-3DTKE scheme

I would like to ask a question, in my research I ndown scale to around 100m resolution when I turned off the PBL scheme and turned on the dm=2,km=2 scheme, but very quickly the CFL overflow occurred, by debugging the epssm, the simulation lasted for about 30 hours, and eventually the CFL overflowed as well. When I replaced km with 5, there was no CFL overflow problem when using the SMS-3DTKE scheme, which makes me feel happy, but how can I verify if I'm using LES or PBL at this point, since the scheme is adaptive.
 
SMS-3DTKE scheme is a kind of 'scale-aware' PBL scheme. With increasing resolution, this scheme tends to run more in LES mode and less in PBL parameterization. More details can be found in the paper:
