What e_vert to use if I only care about WRF's surface variable outputs

Hi all,

If I'm only interested in WRF's surface variable outputs (T2, U10, V10, etc), what e_vert would be appropriate? I looked at the Setting Model Vertical Levels section in the WRF manual but I'm not a weather expert so I'm not sure what dzbot and max_dz values are appropriate. For context, I'm using WRF to downscale global climate model data down to 1km resolution.

Thanks!

e_vert is the number of vertical levels when running WRF. It usually should be around 40 for p_top = 30 ~ 50 hPa to ensure appropriate vertical resolution.

dzbot is the thickness of lowest layer (m) if you set auto_levels_opt=2, and max_dz is the maximum level thickness allowed. I would suggest you stay with the default value of 50 and 1000 for the two variables, respectively.
