Heyyy, long time without writing here, hope you are doing well :)
I performed a downscaling project using WRF (the polar version PWRF) over Atlantic Canada, and my subject of interest regards the three variables daily maximum temperature, daily minimum temperature and daily precipitation amount. With respect to this last one, I summed two variables, RAINCVMEAN and RAINNCVMEAN, the other RAIN is zero, since my thinner resolution is 10km.
My question is, do these two variables account just for rain? or, if the temperature is below the freezing point they are also counting the precipitation as snow?
Or the snowfall is represented by another variable?
Thank you very much :)

Hi,
RAINC and RAINNC account for total precipitation, including snow, hail, etc.
SNOWNC is accumulated grid scale snowfall (snow + ice)
