Dear all,

Have any of you calculated the domain average of temperature (T) and water vapor mixing ratio (qv)
at each time step and then pass it to some physical modules?

I am using WRF 4.1.5 with an idealized case.
The idea is to obtain the domain average of T and qv at each time step and
then apply it to each gird cell as a large scale forcing.
I haven't found any diagnostics or variables that calculate the domain average
at each time step.

Best regards,

Xiang-Yu

Thanks a lot for the reply, Ming.

Is there an example or a way to calculate the global domain average of \theta and q_v
at each time step in "solve_em.F" or "module_first_rk_step_part1.F"?
I haven't found variables "\theta" and "q_v" in these two modules

I am trying to do it in "module_radiation_driver.F", but I am not sure the output
is the entire domain. It looks more like a average from a tile.

Cheers,

Xiang-Yu
