Dear Sir/Madam,
Regional Spectral Model (RSM) was originally developed at National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), this model has been used extensively in regional downscaling of coarse resolution forecasts, analyses and simulations, which is one of the hottest topics in atmospheric modeling. 15th International Regional Spectral Model (RSM) workshop is going to be organized in Jaipur campus of Amity University in India. Amity University Rajasthan and Indian Meteorological Society's Jaipur Chapter jointly hosting this workshop during 11-15th February 2019 at Jaipur campus of Amity University.
This workshop does not exclude participation by modelers other than GSM, RSM, and MSM users. In fact, we strongly encourage people engaged with other models (eg. WRF, RegCM, HWRF, ROMS) to attend, compare results, and discuss general regional model-related problems. There is increasingly high demand for Regional Climate Model (RCM) products from impact modelers and practitioners in seasonal forecasts and climate change issues. Therefore, an invitation to participate in the workshop is extended to end-users of the simulation results from RCMs on various time scales for application (climate risk management, wildfire, agriculture, water resources management, energy, etc). Through these discussions we wish to formulate future plans for RSM development.
IMPORTANT INFO:
Registration Fee for International Participants: $300 (This includes free shared hostel/guest house accommodation in campus; first come first serve basis)
Registration Fee for Indian Participants: 7,500 INR, students/postdocs 6000 INR, additional discount of 1000 INR for members of IMS.
