4dvar tutorial segmentation fault

Hello, I am trying to do the tutorial for 4dvar (https://www2.mmm.ucar.edu/wrf/users/wrfda/Tutorials/2017_July/class/4dvar.html) but I get an error saying that I have a segmentation fault / invalid memory reference when I try to follow the example.
