A Postdoctoral Research Associate Position in land-atmosphere interaction and data assimilation

The successful candidate will join an established research team in atmospheric modeling and data assimilation and work collaboratively with scientists at the University of Utah, NOAA, NASA, and the broad community. The specific research project involves coupled land-atmosphere modeling and data assimilation.
Qualified applicants should have a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences or relevant fields, strong mathematics and physics background, excellent writing skills, proficiency with atmospheric or land-atmosphere models, familiarity with numerical modeling, and advanced data assimilation systems and strong programming abilities. Previous research experiences in one of the following areas, land surface modeling, mesoscale or GCM modeling, atmospheric boundary layer, and data assimilation are helpful.
The position is available immediately. The starting date is negotiable based on mutual interests. The appointment will be initially for one year, renewable for two to three years, dependent on the satisfactory performance and availability of funding. Salary will be competitive based on experience and qualification. The position is open now until filled.
