accumulated lightning flash count (CG) from WRF-ARW

I need lightning flash count for 24 hours. The output has been obtained hourly basis accumulated [IC_FLASHCOUNT & CG_FLASHCOUNT]. I used lightning parameterization scheme 1 and 2 for this. is this flash count or flash rate density over the area.
