Clarification on SST update

Hi everyone,
I am running the model with GFS data. During the real.exe step, I set sst_update = 1, which generated the wrflowinp_d01 file. However, I’m unsure how the SST field was included, as I used Vtable.GFS and didn’t notice any SST variable in it. How was SST obtained and used when sst_update was activated?

If no SST field is explicitly available, the model may use the skin temperature from the input data to initialize or update the SST. As can be seen, their values are consistent.
