Hello all,

I hope all is well. I am running convert_mpas for 3km domain. I am sure that the model values are exisisting but convert_mpas returns NAN. Could you please help? The process has been ok for 15km domains. Thanks so much.

Best,

Is your 3km domain a regional domain? If so, what area does it cover?

Can you upload your target_domain and the command you issued for me to take a look?

Please also double check your original mpas data file to make sure they don't contains NaN.

Apologies for the late response.

Yes. It covers mexico city. My target_domain is as following, but it also produces NaN values without the target_domain.

startlat=10.0
endlat=39.0
startlon=-122.0
endlon=-60
nlat=400
nlon=300

My command is ./convert_mpas history.2016-03-18_16.00.00.nc history.2016-03-*

Original files have no NaN value.

Thanks.

Thank you for uploading the information. The target domain itself and the command you issued are correct.

I am suspicious that your original datafile (history file) doesn't cover the entire area specified in your target_domain. Can you check the maximum and minimum latitude and longitude of your history file?

Thank you for your time and help. I will post shortly, but I don't think that is the reason because even without target_domain file it gives NAN values. This is while the same domain but with coarser resolution it works ok.

If you don't provide target_domain, convert_mpas will use the default one, a gloabl 0.5 x 0.5-degree grid. This is why you see NaN.

Apologies for the late response. I modified it to min and max of my domain but still NaN in the plots. The history file itself has no NaN.

Following is my new target_domain file:

startlat=17.45
endlat=21.39
startlon=-101.27
endlon=-97.03
nlat=40
nlon=30

Thank you so much.
