Hello!

I have a simple question. Does WRF use 2-meter temperature/relative humidity from the reanalysis data for initialization? I used ECMWF data (0.08 degree) for initial and boundary conditions. The archive has atmospheric isobaric analysis and surface analysis data. For the surface data, I do see some files for 2-meter temperature and maybe humidity. However, the metgrid.exe doesn't seem to integrate those variables. The output fields only include TT and RH, which are probably for isobaric layers only. I'm guessing that WRF doesn't need 2-meter variables to provide forcing. But is there a way to use those variables?

Thank you
