Friction velocity in WRF

Hi
I would like to know if there is any way to calculate surface friction velocity from the variables present in the WRF output since I cant find a direct variable.

We do not currently have a function that calculates this. All of the diagnostics available are listed on this page: http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Document/Functions/WRF_arw/wrf_user_getvar.shtml
