How to post-process precipitation from MPAS model

Please, how to post-process precipitation from MPAS model when the config_bucket_update option is set to "none".

Post-processing precipitation as described in this forum thread should work with bucket updates and also with config_bucket_update = 'none'; i.e., the method is completely general. However, if config_bucket_update = 'none', then the i_rainc and i_rainnc fields should always be zero, in which case the computation of the total accumulated precipitation is simply the rainc field plus the rainnc field.
