Is recompilation needed after modifying parameter values in .TBL?

I'd like to change the values of some parameters in a few .TBL files (in the em_real setup of WRF 4.5.1). More specifically, I'd like to modify values of REFKDT_DATA in GENPARAM.TBL and DRYSMC as well as MAXSMC in SOILPARAM.TBL. I believe the quickest way to do it is to open the .TBL file in a text editor and save the file after modification. After having done this, do I need to recompile WRF?

You just modify the TBL file, no need to recompile the WRF.
