LANDMASK=-1？

when i run ./geogrid.exe, i found LANDMASK=-1 geo_em.d01.nc, but LU_INDEX=17(WATER)?

I have a few questions to help clarify what the issue for you is.

1) What version of WPS/WRF are you using?
2) Could you attach your namelist.wps file so can see your configuration?
3) Where exactly are you running into errors? Is it in geogrid.exe, a later step, or are you simply asking why the landmask and lu_index values differ?

1) i used a new modis data (modis2019), I don’t know if there is an error in the GEOGRID.TBL file.
2) I just want to know why the area with LU_INdex=17, LANDMASK=-1.

Is this discrepancy present in just the geo_em files, or does it extend to files like met_em and wrfinput?
