mad-wrf run

Hello,

I have installed WRF model V4.3 and added the new entries to METFRID table. My questions are:

Is the new version of WRF includes the MAD module? If not is the new variables (CLDMASK, CLDBASEZ ...) in metgrid can be extracted from GFS model with ungrib ? or are satellite observations?

Is there user manual that explains the different steps ?

Hello,

MAD-WRF is included in the WRF release. In the WRF/doc directory there is a file called README.madwrf with information on how to run MAD-WRF. The variables that you mention are usually calculated with satellite retrievals or ground observations. You will have to put the observations in the WPS intermediate format. Here is a link with a sample program (Fortran) to write in the WPS intermediate file format:

Thank you for the answer ! Where can I retrieve the satellite data ? is there open servers for real time data ?
