I need to compare the surface level fields (such as u10, v10, t2, q2) of MPAS and WRF. I'm wondering their interpolation method from model level to surface level are the same or not?
I believe these fields (u10, v10, t2, and q2) are computed in the surface-layer scheme, so assuming the same surface-layer scheme were used in the WRF and MPAS simulations, then I think these fields would be computed in the same way. It's possible that other physics schemes (e.g., the PBL scheme or the land-surface scheme) may modify these fields, too.
